Traffic Manager/Promotions Director
When Cindy Arnold manages traffic for Joy 620 WRJZ, she’s not working around cars, trucks or vans. It’s a different kind of traffic. “Traffic” is the term used for all the on-air elements that move through our radio station.
“I take care of creating the daily commercial logs,” Cindy explains. “When a client purchases a commercial package with us, I enter it and schedule it to ensure that it airs correctly.”
With an eye for detail and a knack for organization, she works toward getting commercials, promotional announcements and public service announcements logged, scheduled and delivered. This helps our radio station ensure that every message is heard loud and clear.
Her role goes beyond just the technical side of scheduling, though. Cindy is also involved in shaping the station’s promotional efforts, working behind the scenes so Joy 620 is presented well outside the studio walls. Whether it’s brainstorming new ideas with her team, fine-tuning the details of an event, or arriving in person for hands-on support, you’ll find Cindy in the center of the action here.
Guided by Faith
Every day comes with its own set of challenges, and conquering those challenges gives her a rewarding sense of accomplishment. But Cindy says what truly makes her work worthwhile is the purpose behind the job and the people alongside her who help make it happen.
“I love being in an atmosphere where my coworkers genuinely love each other,” Cindy says. “We show grace to one another and we pray for each other. I love that the most.”
She didn’t expect to land here, and wasn’t even looking for work when Joy 620 found her. It happened with an important combination of timing and trust. A simple conversation at church jumpstarted a new adventure.
“A friend asked what work I used to do and when I told him I worked in radio, he immediately asked me if I wanted a job,” Cindy says. “The Lord knew I needed this job and these people. What a blessing it has been to be here.”
Roots of Faith and Inspiration
Growing up in a Christian home, Cindy had a strong foundation of faith from the beginning. As a self-described “military brat,” Cindy adapted to moving to a new home every few years. While her neighborhoods, schools and churches changed, her family’s faith remained constant.
“I accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 7,” Cindy says. “While I was young, I knew I didn’t want to be separated from God.”
Cindy’s favorite Bible verse as a younger Christian was Phillipians 4:13 – “For I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength.” As she grew both in years and in faith, she began to love Jeremiah 29:11 – “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
Today, Cindy can look back and see the evidence of God’s provision and promises, even in the most difficult times.
“One of our greatest challenges came a little over two years ago when our son-in-law had a stroke. It changed our lives, but we got to see the mercy of God and His sovereignty,” Cindy says. “His hand was all over our family and I will forever be grateful for the blessings He has poured out.”
Fast forward to today, and Cindy’s family has weathered the storms, moving into new blessings. Her daughter and son-in-law are expecting twins.
“They will be our first grandchildren and we couldn’t be more excited!” Cindy says.
Sharing a Message of Hope
Through her work at Joy 620 and her everyday interactions, Cindy seeks to encourage others to trust the Lord and find him faithful. It’s something she knows about from personal experience.
“Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I want people to not just come to know Him, but to be discipled to grow in their faith and then disciple others,” Cindy says. “I want to help others learn to fulfill the Great Commission.”
It’s a passion that drives her every day. With a heart full of gratitude and a spirit fueled by faith, Cindy continues to inspire both her coworkers, clients and listeners.
“I’m so thankful to be part of this ministry here at Joy 620. I love working alongside other believers whose mission is to get the gospel out to as many people as possible. It is an absolute blessing!”
Cindy believes the Lord very intentionally brought her to a place where her talents could be used to make a real difference. That sense of purpose is evident in everything she does, both on-air and off, as she continues to trust in the the Lord’s guidance every step of the way.
